What are the Healthy Food Consume during Pregnancy

If you feel that it is tough to maintain a balanced diet during early pregnancy, then you are not alone. There are pregnant women who will always eat and eat whilst the rest having problem in taking foods. So, either they gain some weight or lose weight.

Pregnant women must start putting into their menu a healthy well-balanced diet which is important for them and their baby. They must prevent themselves from suffering of malnutrition and dehydration which is the most important factors during early pregnancy.

Calories is the most important component for pregnant women. They have to consume an extra of 300 calories more than before they become pregnant. Eat when you are hungry, that my advise to those pregnant women. When you are eating, eat as many foods as possible but do not over eat. Remember, you are now eating for two ie you and your baby.

Calcium intake is a must as it will supplement your bones density and developing bones for your baby. A 1,500 milligrams of calcium is required daily by the second trimester of your pregnancy.  This translate into a quart of milk consumption. Can’t take it ! You can substitute it with other calcium –based foods such as dairy products , calcium fortified or even calcium tablets.

One of the common problems faced by pregnant women is constipation. Therefore it is imperative for them to include fiber-based food in their diet . Whole grain, fruits and vegetables are known of its fiber-rich foods.

If you are not a vegetarian, you don’t have any problem in taking protein-based food which could be largely found in meat.

Iron deficiency is normal for women whom just started being pregnant.  Pregnant women should not neglect iron-based food where it can be found in dark leafy green vegetables and meats. Avoid iron supplement as it may establish internal sickness such as cramping, diarrhea or constipation.

Vitamin is all you need and has been taken in your diet but you may consider to seek doctor advise on the prenatal vitamins required. Folate is one of the  most important components and if you are getting enough of it then rest assured that you may ignore vitamins but again always refer to your doctor for clearance.
