The four regions of Chinese cuisine

The world of Chinese cuisine consists of more variety than most Americans realize. There are many different types of food in China can be roughly divided into four regions: South, North, East and West. Some information about the individual:

Southern or Cantonese - The cuisine of this region is the most famous Americans. Cantonese cuisine uses a variety of vegetables and meat. Rice is the staple food, and the familiar fried rice recipes are Cantonese in origin. Many dishes are prepared in this region very quickly stir-fries. Cantonese cuisine is usually slightly fragrant, but there are a variety of flavourings used. Sweet and sour dishes from the region.

Also known as Mandarin cuisine, this food from the region of China, which has very sever winters - Northern or Beijing. The climate of this region is not the rice, wheat is the staple food. Wheat is processed into noodles, pancakes and dumplings. The flavours of northern China are more robust, with lots of onion, garlic, cabbage, noodles, soy sauce, dark soy sauce and oyster flavoured. Or West Sichuan - Sichuan cuisine is famous for his use of language-blistering peppers in a variety of dishes. But there is more to this cuisine as heat. There are delicious dishes such as smoked chicken with smoked tea leaves. Sichuan pepper is a spice used in this kitchen. Five-spice powder is another spice that is used in the kitchen. Hot and sour soup and twice cooked pork dishes with this area.

These four regions are only a general guide to the remarkable and varied cuisine of China.
